"Dan has been writing sonnets to me twice a year, on our anniversary and on Valentine's Day, and for our grandchildren as well. I have chosen a few photographs, each titled to represent a sonnet of the same name. Words from each sonnet have been edited into each appropriate photograph. We plan on putting out a book containing a collection of these photos and sonnets. This is the planned cover of the book."

"I hope you enjoy some of the photos and sonnets from the book that I am presenting here."

"During the past several months, while confined, I placed the majority of Dan’s sonnets, at his discretion, into one document, and selected a photograph or piece of art to represent the theme of each individual poem."

"Photographing the art and editing each photograph has taken almost a year, often interrupted by joint replacements, rehab, and my old slow computer. Once again, the pandemic, forcing us inside, enabled me to “get serious” and complete the editing process and prepare our book for publication."

"I have been studying painting since 2006 with various artists, working in several forms. I became passionate about photography with the advent of the digital camera. I believe I inherited my love for photography and art from my father, who combined both in his business as a printer and inventor. I never did understand the f/stop, which he patiently tried to teach me, until I was considerably older."

"The Stonebridge Photography Club has inspired me to take better photos, and to learn more advanced skills in photo editing. Getting an updated computer and updating Adobe Cloud Photoshop has enabled me to hasten and improve my editing skills."

"I recently purchased a Wacom Intuos Pro Paper Ink tablet, which I will soon master. This will further enhance my editing skills. I did use the tablet to create a small drawing in photoshop which I then combined with my photo “My Confidence” (below) within a Photoshop template."

"I took the photograph "Comparison" (below) specifically for the sonnet by the same name. This is my wedding ring, purchased ten years after our wedding, and a set of pearls given one anniversary on our Ketubah, the Jewish wedding certificate, which I photographed and edited for the book.
The lines:
“I did not love you when we promised trust,
Nor when you first did wear my golden ring.
//Yet this word, "love," ascribed to you today
Will be the same as thirty years away, are particularly tender and lovely.”

I continue to be impressed by Dan's ability to write such tender words poetically."

"We hope to soon publish our collection of photos and sonnets. Below is the planned back of the book."

"Thanks for looking at our photos and sonnets. Soon, I hope, our Photo Club members can convene again and enjoy our wonderful meetings, competitions, workshops and field trips.
Stay healthy my friends, keep social distancing and wear a mask."
