"In Memory of Rob Mindas"
A collection of some of Rob's photos

************************************************* Recently, club member Rob Mindas passed away from the corona virus. Rob was a member of the club for the past 8 years and loved photography. When health issues limited his mobility, he made creative and clever images that required imagination and ingenuity to execute. He was kind enough to do a workshop for us to show how he accomplished the effects. Also generous with his time, Rob invited club members to his home and used the two-screen setup in his studio to give us instruction on how to use Photoshop. At meetings in the theater, Rob could always be found in the second row, first seat. The Club will miss the presence of this kind and affable man. In his memory, the club is displaying some of his photos on this web page. We hope you enjoy them. Stay safe and be well. "Rob was a close friend who I could talk to and confide in. I’ll miss our lunches and Rob’s handmade cappuccinos. I admired his creativity. Most of his photos are museum quality, as you can see from some that are shown here. He won many competitions that left me in the dust. I will miss Rob very much."

"Rob was a fixture at the Photo Club meetings. Even though he had difficulty getting around, he made sure to pitch in with club activities. He once put together a very entertaining workshop on "Light Painting", and for a number of years ably took on the task of setting up the club's display photos in the clubhouse lobby."

"When I first joined the photo club and had to frame a photo he invited me to his house and showed me the ropes, gave me some materials and was very gracious." Rich L.
"I didn’t know Rob all that well. What I do know is that he was friendly, willing to do what was asked of him as best he could and always willing to give of his time and his expertise. The man who usually sat on the aisle, 2nd row will be missed."

"I have a wonderful memory of the first time I met Rob. Finding an envelope on the ground which I thought might belong to the house nearby, I rang the bell and was welcomed into the Mindas home as though I were royalty coming to visit. All this, despite never having met Rob and Judy before. The icing on the cake was spotting a tripod in the corner of the living room. Told that it was Rob's, I immediately informed him of the existence of our wonderful club, and the rest is history. The club has lost a fine photographer and a very kind and generous man. He will be missed." Bobbi G. |
"Above all, Rob was an experimenter as a photographer. He was always trying new techniques, experimenting with different set ups at home and pushing the limits of what you could do with your photos in Photoshop. This was one of his in home set ups. ---------------------------------------------------> Below you can see a couple of his more interesting shots." Mario E. |
"Rob was a really nice guy. I'll miss him. I remember when I was having an issue about getting a photo of mine put up in the clubhouse. Rob was very helpful." Marv G.
"I once asked Rob if he could help me learn photoshop. He immediately said yes. I spent a number of days in Rob's office, always greeted by Judy, his wife, with a big smile. Rob was a big guy who hid his generous nature. I pray he is up in Heaven making photographs for the other Big Guy." Diana K.
"Sending condolences to Rob’s wife. Rob was a skilled photographer and a kind man. The club will miss his presence." Sandy F.
